SAN FRANCISCO--July 15, 1998--ClickMail® Central Directory, the master address book for Mac OS, has been shipped by One Click Systems. Version 1.0 includes compatibility with major email clients, easy data import and setup, optional integration with AppleShare IP server, and remote web administration. The standalone server software runs on Power Macintosh. Mac and Windows versions of Eudora Pro 4, Netscape Communicator , Microsoft Outlook, Mulberry, QuickMail Pro, and other POP3 and IMAP email programs can all access it over a network to look up email addresses.
ClickMail Central Directory is available directly from One Click Systems and from selected resellers. A fully functional, 30-day evaluation version may be downloaded from their web site <http://www.gracion.com/server/>. It comes in two versions: Basic, holding up to 100 entries, and XL, with unlimited entries and remote web administration. ClickMail Basic retails for $259, introductory price $199; ClickMail XL retails for $499, introductory price $429. Introductory pricing is good through July 31 (1998). One Click Systems offers a 30 day, money-back satisfaction guarantee on its software.
System Administrators running Mac OS servers no longer have to create and distribute address books for various email clients and platforms. Instead, they can store email address and contact information in a single location, accessible to all LDAP-aware clients. With permissions settings, administrators can choose who can access and what information they can see, for a directory that is public, private, or both. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is the Internet standard for white pages directories (see http://www.gracion.com/server/whatldap.html).
One Click Systems, located in Ashland, Oregon, USA, is an independent software vendor specializing in Macintosh and Internet standards. The company is the developer of ClickMail Internet Gateway, which connects QuickMail LAN email software to Internet mail with a standard Internet dial-up account. Additional product information is available on the Web at <http://www.gracion.com/.
